Surprising Benefits of Your Own Video Series

You might have toyed with the idea of producing your own video series once or twice and then pushed it aside with thoughts of too much work and no guaranteed return. But producing a video series is a powerfully effective way of communicating who you are on a consistent level. The fact that it is not yet done by many companies means it is a tremendous opportunity to stand out and take over your industry.

I had the pleasure of working on a very polished video series for LeapZone Strategies called, “LeapTV” and I asked Isabelle Mercier-Turcotte (co-owner of LeapZone and the show’s host) what were the benefits she saw from this series. This is what she told me:

“I prefer communicating with video over writing a blog and I had a lot of fun creating this series. We made it into a show with segments and guests.”
“The main purpose was to add value and to create an impact and it ended up becoming it’s own product that also included sponsors for the show. It opened a lot of doors for me. I got invited as a guest on many well-known podcasts. I got speaking engagements. And an American national business TV network picked up one of the segments of my show and broadcasted it on their network.”
“I would say to other business owners that, today, it’s almost a must to create some kind of steady online presence, whether it be a podcast or a video series. Being the leader in the conversation of your industry is really smart. And to do it with video is even smarter as its so well received. And to produce the series with someone like you, Danielle, who knows what converts what doesn’t convert, what works and what doesn’t work takes off months even years of testing and research to get it audience ready.”

The importance of video, in general, is that it engages your audience at an emotional level which is important to building a long term relationship.
Having your own series:
  1. Establishes you as the leader in the conversation of your industry
  2. Sets a strong fan base
  3. Draws traffic to your website
  4. Opens doors of opportunities you may not have even though of
  5. Keeps you steadily in the thoughts of many
I believe in this so much that I walk my own talk. I have started my own series where I share my expertise for using your smartphone camera. Check it out here. I don’t just post it on Instagram. I also post it on TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn. It’s all about exposure.
It doesn’t have to be an elaborate production. But a simply talking head won’t cut it. You need a bit more creativity involved to stand out. If you are interested, I can help you at any level.
